3/10 and our showcase with Jeff Lewis

Our regular 3/10 Thursday open performance session found many good songs. Here are a couple new ones by Aaron (formerly?) Invisible and Cal Folger Day.

Our big news is the very successful first monthly showcase/zine release on 3/12. We had set’s by Brian Dolphin, John Houx, Dave Deporis and Jeff Lewis. Email Catweazle NYC for info about how to get your hands on our zine. We’ll mail it to you! Or submit for the April issue.

3/3/11 catweazle comes in like a lion

We had quite a boy-heavy cast this week, and only then did we get to see such anomalies as Viktor Longo’s sensitive side, soliloquies on insomniac sharks. and a Staten Islander’s fantasies about a Brooklyn artist’s room.

1. Edward Hopper (poem by Bernard King, read by Viktor Longo, especially good).

2. Young Cornelius with Slim Tim on the upright.

3. Charls Mansfield’s song about Ringo’s temporary replacement.

2/24/11 Catweazle review

Stunning night.

And remember, if you have things that are nice to look at (comics, lyrics, self portraits, poems, particularly nice coffee-on-napkin rings, etc) bring them this Thursday for the first Catweazle publication! (or email catweazlenyc{at}gmail{dot}com)

1. Trevor Wilson and Michael Chinworth sing a “15th or 16th-century Spanish song”

2. Naomi Frank and her lap dulcimer.

3.  Our featured set, Cutleri, displaying usual multi-instrumental prowess.

4. A newer song by Pat Hull.
